We are a Peruvian mining company with over 35 years of experience, owned by Breca, the country’s main investment group enjoying a broadly diversified business base. We exploit tin in the San Rafael mine, and gold in Pucamarca, our most recent venture. We control the process and add value to our products, treating minerals in the Pisco smelter and refinery plant, where we achieve a high degree of purity. Finally our metals are marketed and traded both locally and globally.
We share the use of valuable natural resources with the community, thereby the success of our operations is intimately linked to the integral development of the people. Together with the State we contribute to its efforts for improving the living conditions of the communities creating tangible opportunities for changing a subsistence economy into sustainable development, to integrate future generations into the national economy.
Our commitment to diversification allows us to explore new business opportunities in Peru as well as abroad, with our aim being to consolidate our leadership around the world. In 2008, through our subsidiary Minera Latinoamericana we acquired Mineração Taboca in Brazil which boasts the largest reserve of Tin being located some 300 km distance from the city of Manaus, , together with the Pirapora foundry on the outskirts of Sao Paulo. Our most recent acquisitions on national territory have been Marcobre in Nazca and Barbastro in Huancavelica.
Our integrated management system promotes continuous improvement of our standards and processes. We are ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 certified.
As a mining company we have established ourselves as a pacesetter in good practices, using cutting edge technology, ensuring safety at work, respecting the environment and committed to the populations where we operate. We enjoy a well-deserved recognition at both local and international levels always providing high quality products that contribute to the enrichment of the quality of life for thousands of people.
