San Rafael is the leading Tin producing mine in South America and the third in the world. Located in Puno region in the eastern cordillera of the Andes, at 4,500 meters above sea level. Since 1977 it has operated as Minsur S.A. and today produces 12% of world’s Tin. Since its inception it has contributed to the development of the region, currently generating more than 2,000 jobs for the local population and promoting sustainable development projects.
